The “Why” Exercise

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to answer the question “Why should you work with me instead of someone else.”

Overview: To get complete commitment from all involved, everyone must understand why this way is best.  There are 4 categories that must be addressed for a comprehensive perspective of methodology:

  1. Growth - why is this way going to help us grow better than others?
  2. Profit - why is this way going to help us profit better than others?
  3. Scale - why is this way going to help us scale better than others?
  4. Risk Management - why is this way going to help us manage risk better than others?

Instructions: In this exercise, start listing all of the reasons why your methodology/solution is different/unique and best suited for your prospects/clients in each general area.  As a note, this exercise is intended for idea generation only and encourages you to simply put any idea from your mind onto the list and requires no particular order.
